nardini, makers of the world's finest grappa since 1779, is still a family-owned business. the company uses a combination of continuous and discontinuous steam distillation using only locally-sourced moist pomaces of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, pinot bianco and tokay placing great emphasis on the quality, purity and authenticity of their grappas all of which are 50% abv. nardini bianca is the best-selling premium grappa brand in italy . nardini grappa riserva (aged for 5 years in oak) won 'best in class' award in the international wine & spirit competition in 2006. nardini mandorla is an almond flavoured grappa, increasingly popular with mixologists in the uk for use in cocktails or for drinking on its own. nardini bitter (24% abv) is a traditional 'red' bitter-sweet aperitivo made from an exotic blend of botanicals including bitter orange, sweet orange, chinese rhubarb root, gentian and roman absinthe. nardini rabarbaro (19% abv) derived mainly from the chinese rhubarb root, is highly aromatic and delicious over ice or mixed 50:50 with nardini rossi and soda to make 'mezzo-mezzo' or with nardini bitter to make 'mezzo-mezzo inglese'. nardini amaro (31% abv) - is a much acclaimed bitter-sweet italian classic flavoured principally with bitter orange, peppermint and gentian. to be enjoyed straight up or with ice and soda. nardini rossi (24% abv) which contains quinine and natural vanilla is softer, richer and sweeter than nardini bitter but shares the same citrus qualities making it ideal as a pre-dinner drink.
