passion and know-how are the two key words of champagne lallier, owned and managed by francis tribaut. francis is highly experienced in the art of champagne, having been the winemaker for other top houses, but now that he has his own champagne house, he is really showing what he can do. francis has the reputation as the "young buck" of champagne and with his flair, expertise and energy may well deserve this title. lallier is in the middle of aÿ, one of the few champagne villages that is recognised as grand cru classé. francis has 12 ha of vines, 8 of which are grown in classified grand cru vineyards. the state-of-the-art winery has a mixture of stainless steel and traditional cuves allowing for high-tech precision while still respecting the traditional methods that have made the wine so famous. the wines are bottled after blending in the spring and then are stored in the cavernous lallier chalk cellars until they have reached perfect maturity.
