a wine critic and a wine maker have finally come together to create a wine that doesn't follow the crowd. after scouring both the cooler and warmer regions of southern france for high class grapes with just the right flavours and quality level, they added some hand crafted wine making and le petit noir wines were born. hugh ryman is the skilled winemaker in question and robert joseph the wine critic. they see these wines as an exciting "house wine" joint venture aiming to create wines of intense flavour and great structure.

le petit noir viognier 2006 le petit noir merlot 2006

"this tastes just like it should. plums, damsons and a little bramble fruit on the palate. good ripe tannins, gentle use of oak and supple body. perfect example of fine fresh fruity merlot" (le petit noir merlot 2006) peter gordon-smith
