This is a Challenge for UK Bartenders: Create An Original Liqueur

The Gabriel Boudier Wizard Award is back for it’s 2022 / 2023 UK bartender competition. Register and enter here.

This is a challenge for all UK bartenders to create an original and unique new liqueur, with the opportunity for the winning liqueur to be adopted by Gabriel Boudier for a 2023 launch as part of their award-winning Bartender Liqueur range - plus a prize of £1000.

Bartenders must read the rules on the competition page and register. Once registered, Emporia Brands will, on request, supply the neutral sugar beet alcohol for the bartender to start creating their recipe. Only 100% natural ingredients, with no artificial flavours or colourings can be used. Entries must be made online through the competition page before the 1st November 2022.

The top 10 recipes from each of the three regions below will be chosen by the panel of judges: The South, The Midlands & The North, and Scotland. Regional finals will be held in January with the Grand Final taking place in Dijon, France later in 2023.

Bartenders! Register on the competition page and you’ll be contacted by our team. You can find a range of information on the competition page but any other queries can be picked up directly with your local Emporia Brands representative.

Online forms with both the prototype liqueur and signature serves will have to be completed by 1st November 2022.

The last competition winner was Matthew Cussworth from Hoot the Redeemer in Edinburgh, with his creative Nori Seaweed Liqueur. Matthew commented: “As a bartender, I struggle to find consistent ways to introduce savoury flavours into my cocktails, so i’m very excited for Nori to launch and to see the inventive ways bartenders will use seaweed in their creations.”
